MRSA is resistant Staph that does not respond to commonly used antibiotics. It is rampant in hospitals now. You go in for a surgery and end up with a life threatening staph infection.
This infornation is taken from Web MD below:
"The following Staph and MRSA types are the most common:
According to the CDC, over 80,000 invasive MRSA infections and 11,285 related deaths occur every year. The above are just for MRSA infection stats, not other infections as well. Infections get spread through catheters, ventilators and stethoscopes. This has decreased significantly because of new medicine and procedures to prevent MRSA infection in the hospitals.
"Staphylococcus aureus is a leading cause of hospital-acquired infections. It is the primary cause of lower respiratory tract infections and surgical site infections (1,2) and the second leading cause of nosocomial bacteremia (3), pneumonia, and cardiovascular infections (1,2).

So how does one avoid staph and what alternative medicine works or staph?
#1: Stay out of the doctors office or hospital if possible. Get released as soon as possible! Wash your hands when leaving any hospital or doctor's office. Bring hand sanitizer and use it frequently. Try to sit away from other patients especially if they are coughing and look sick. Don't spend more time than you have to at the appointment.
#2: Make sure your immune system is in optimal shape at all times. Take Immune Supporting herbs and supplements. Immune support herbs include:
#3: Make sure you are getting proper rest and eating a healthy diet. These two steps boost immune function.
Ask the hospital these questions before you get admitted:
- What is the hospital’s rate of bloodstream infections; it should be at or below one infection per 1,000 catheter days.
- Is the hospital participating in the national effort to prevent these infections.
- Does the hospital use the Pronovost checklist when inserting central line catheters.
- Make sure the doctors and nurses wash their hands each time they enter your room.
- Have your catheter removed as soon as possible. It is one of the main sources for staph infections.
If you are in the hospital you may not have any choice for your treatment. If you are home when you get sick, this is the regimen we have for our family and ourselves. You will not know for sure without a culture test for sure if it is a staph infection. If it is a boil, sty, or abscess it is usually staph. Skin infections can be bacterial or staph usually.
Doctors will misdiagnose skin infections more often than not. They label everything allergic dermatitis. My husband and I have both been through it this year with really nasty, resistant skin infections due to gouges in the skin that got infected,. There are flesh eating skin infections so be careful. If the infections does not respond to home treatment and gets worse rapidly, head to the emergency room.
This is How our family treats staph infections.
#1: We flush the gouge or cut in the skin immediately with lots of water, then tea tree wash, and last with tea tree oil. Every night after working outside we wash our arms and hands with tea tree wash.
#2: If it is a nasty wound, we pack it with goldenseal or Neem powder and wrap it up. We have found that tea tree oil is not enough to completely stop MRSA skin infections. It shows it down, but does not seem to stamp it out completely. Topping it over with goldenseal seems to work well most of the time. You must do this daily until the cut is not longer swollen, red, or spreading. Cover the wounds with non stick gauze pads. Do not touch it or scratch it. Wash your hands after redressing the wound. You can also try goldenseal or Neem in a salve, comfrey salve, or propolis salve. We have found straight goldenseal or Neem powder to be the most effective on staph. Depending on how tough the bacteria or staph is, you may have to try several remedies before you find the right one. Make sure you watch it to make sure your treatment is working and it is not getting worse or spreading.
#3: We take goldenseal, Neem or oregano capsules orally along with the the skin treatment or systemic infection. If it is a sore throat, it could well be strep instead. Gargling with kyolic garlic or tea tree oil ( a few drops in water) works well with throat infections. Zinc, Vitamin A, and other vitamins are increased.
Make sure the supplement is quality, if not you will not see results and you could end up with an emergency bill. It is critical on both supplements. There are a lot of junk supplements out there. They will not work because the medicinal properties have been processed out.
We increase the dose of Vitamin C to three thousand milligrams a day taken as one thousand milligrams three times a day.
We also take an immune support formula.
When to see a doctor or emergency room?
If the cut area gets worse with this treatment, we would go visit the dr for a skin culture to see what we are up against.
Warning
If a red line spreads quickly up toward the heart, that is blood poisoning and do go to the emergency room. In some cases the infection spreads so rapidly, that it needs IV injections to stop it. You can't do that at home. An example is a cat scratch or dog bite wound. In hours you can have blood poisoning. My husband got wounded by our cat. The next morning it had turned into a nasty red line. He went for IV injections for two weeks, it was that entrenched overnight. He almost was hospitalized.
